Patient Coordinator — West Africa

Be the one person a patient and their family call from the first message to the follow-up visit at home.

About the role

You will own a caseload of patients referred from hospitals in Nigeria and Ghana: collect reports, explain the written quote, arrange visa letters and travel, and keep the family and the referring doctor updated daily while the patient is abroad.

You report to the Head of Patient Coordination and work closely with the partner hospitals' international patient departments.

What you will do

  • Prepare complete case files so quotes come back within 48 hours
  • Walk patients and families through quotes, dates and travel
  • Coordinate visa letters, flights, hotel and airport pickup
  • Send daily updates to families and referring doctors during treatment
  • Make sure discharge summaries reach the home doctor

What we are looking for

  • Nursing, medical records or healthcare administration background
  • Fluent English; Yoruba, Hausa or French a plus
  • Calm on the phone with worried families
  • Comfortable with a case-management portal and WhatsApp
  • Willing to travel to partner hospitals twice a year

Partner hospitals and patient records

The partner portal is an operations system: wards and beds, departments, pharmacy stock, staff and payroll, and procurement. It does not hold patient medical records. The only health data that reaches us is a referral, which a hospital sends with the patient's (or guardian's) explicit written consent for that purpose; the hospital records the consent date and scope on the referral and keeps the signed form in the patient's file.

Referral documents are stored encrypted in transit and on a private disk that only our medical team and the referring hospital can open, are shared with the treating hospital abroad only as far as the consent allows, and are deleted 12 months after the referral is closed.
